Spring cards with Imaginisce brads

A couple of weeks ago, I won a contest with Oh My Crafts! My prize was a set of 6 Imaginisce brads. I used 5 of them today; the sixth brad had a fox on it, which didn't fit in with my theme. Here are pics of the cards I made today.

St. Patty's Day card

A nice relaxing day

I spent the day with Bryan today, just relaxing, enjoying each other's company. It's been two months since we got to spend our usual every-other Saturday together. We've both been sick at one time or another...one of us one weekend, then the other, and one time it was both of us.

I am up at 0400h on the days I go to work, 0600h on the days I don't, so I never really get a day that I "sleep in". Bryan came in at 0700h this morning and snuggled up with me and let me sleep until 0900h...that was nice. I got up and cooked breakfast. After we ate, we went on a long walk together, enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. We are both on a mission to lose weight, so we walked approximately 2 miles, most of it up a long hill. It was exhilarating and relaxing all at once. Afterwards, we came home and fell asleep while watching the NCIS marathon. That two-hour nap was just what we needed. I cooked dinner for us later on...pork chops, roasted potatoes, and baked beans. It was GOOD!!

Bryan has gone home now. We both are very tired. With both of us being in college, working, and trying to keep up with everything else, we stay tired. I'll be glad when we both graduate. I have decided to take the summer semester off, and he is contemplating doing so also. We need a break. Plus, my daughter and my grandchildren are going to need me a bit this summer with the new baby coming, so I thought it was best to not try to take any classes this summer.

I'm glad that I got to spend the day with my betrothed today. It was a very good day, one we both needed. And yes, I left some of the details out!! :-)

Spring is here!

It's been a beautiful day in Gilbert, SC! I am a cold weather person, but I like Spring and Fall the best. Maybe I should say that I'm NOT a hot weather person!

Lisa and the kids were outside with me in the yard and we had two mockingbirds diving after us. I was out of bird seed, so we loaded up and went to the local feed & seed to buy some bird seed. Our local feed & seed is more like an ole timey general store, with kids toys and all kinds of stuff. Katie and Aiden had fun playing with stuff. Aiden had fun running towards the door and making it open. We came home and filled up the feeders. Shortly after, we decided to go inside; the pollen is killing all of us!

I stayed out a little longer than they did and picked up some stuff around the yard. I need to get out there and scrub down yard toys and furniture, but I don't have an outside water connection right now. My outside pipe froze and busted during the winter, and I had Bryan just cap off the line for the time being. He'll fix it for me in the next couple of weeks, I hope. My birds want water, too!

FOR SALE: Son-in-law, dirt cheap

In fact, I'll pay you to take him away! Make him work and just send my daughter his checks. Displays a violent temper, plenty of ignorance, a sorry work ethic, and has no idea what it truly means to be a man. His one good attribute: he's very fertile. His worst attribute: once he's made the children, he has no clue what to do with them after that. Treats his wife like crap, talks to her like she's a stray dog, and lies every time he opens his mouth. The only reason he is still alive is because he hasn't hit my daughter or the children YET. The holes in the wall and ceiling are sure indicators that it's only a matter of time. So if you really want him, you better come pick him up ASAP.

Pictures of Me and My Family

All About Me

I am a 40 year old woman. I am a mother; my daughter, Lisa, is 22 years old. I am a grandmother; my granddaughter, Katherine Ailani (Katie), is almost 5, and my grandson, Aiden James, is 20 months old. My third grandchild, a girl, is due April 26th; her name will be Olivia Rayne. I am a girlfriend; my "betrothed" is named Bryan, and we have known each other for 31 years. (There is a long story to that, and one day I will share it.) I am also a 911 Dispatcher, a college student, a paper-crafter, a scrapbooker, and a Facebook addict. :-)

My life is a little chaotic and a bit disorganized, and every once in a while, there's a bit of drama from my daughter's life that leaks over into mine. I am currently single and live alone, which has taken me years to get used to. Most days I like it; some days I don't.

I created this blog so that I could share my life...my thoughts, my crafts, pictures of my family. I welcome comments as long as they are civil. The lack of kindness in this world is a very big pet-peeve of mine!!
